Loving You
I have been a full figured woman all my life, thus being a full figured
has not been an adaptation for me but a away of life. However, there
are women out there who are new to being full figured and feel they are
fat, overweight, unhealthy, and just plain detestable. This is where
low self-esteem starts to settle in and the love for one's self starts
walking out the door. We as women speak of giving unconditional love to
our men, our children, our families and our friends however we do not
know how to begin to give that same unconditional love to ourselves. As
women we are taught to be strong and never let anything effect us.
This may be the case in public but when we go home all gloves come off.
We are depressed and the love for our selves is just not there. We
criticize ourselves and put ourselves down and talk about all the
changes we want to make to ourselves without truly knowing who we are in
order to make these necessary changes. Now I ask, how can you fix
something when you do not know what is truly broken. The answer to this
questions is that you can't.
As women we have to reintroduce ourselves to two powerful phrases
"Self-Love" and "Self-Esteem." Why can't you love yourself and why do
you feel you do not deserve to be loved. When I look at myself as being a
full figured woman I see a beautiful black female with gorgeous curves,
a beautiful smile, a healthy spirit, and more love for myself than I
know what to do with. Worrying about what others say about me does not
shape who I am and the opinions of others will not change my opinion of
myself. It took me a while to learn this, but not as just being a full
figured woman but as a being a woman period. I share this with all of
my beautiful curvy women because it is time for you "us" to step up and
start loving ourselves for who and what we are. Beautiful Curvy Women
with a lot of to offer.
Please Start Loving You!!!
